Frequently Asked Questions

Yes. I provide virtual counseling for adults located anywhere in Texas. While my practice is based in Dallas, online counseling allows us to meet wherever you are in the state from a private, comfortable space that works for you.
I work with adults navigating life transitions, relationships, anxiety and stress, self-esteem, identity, personal growth, and career concerns.

You don’t need to be in crisis- or even know exactly what’s wrong- to benefit from counseling.
People often come to me because they feel stuck, overwhelmed, disconnected from themselves, or unsure about what comes next. Counseling can help with anxiety, stress, relationship patterns, boundaries, self-esteem, grief, divorce, identity changes, career transitions, burnout, and major life changes.
Sometimes the starting point is simply, “Something in my life doesn’t feel right anymore, and I want to understand why.” That’s enough to begin.
-
My approach is warm, collaborative, thoughtful, and practical. I believe insight matters- but therapy should also help you do something meaningful with what you discover.
We’ll look beneath the surface of what’s happening, notice patterns that may be keeping you stuck, and explore how your experiences, relationships, beliefs, and expectations have shaped where you are today.
From there, we’ll work toward changes that actually fit your life. I bring empathy, curiosity, structure, and a little humor into the room. You don’t have to show up with perfectly organized thoughts. We can figure things out together.
-
There isn’t a specific threshold you have to cross before you’re “allowed” to seek counseling.
You might consider counseling if you keep repeating patterns you want to change, feel overwhelmed by stress or anxiety, struggle in relationships, have difficulty setting boundaries, or find yourself questioning who you are and what you want.
You may also be doing relatively well on the outside while privately thinking, I know something needs to change. I’m just not sure what.
Counseling can be a place to figure that out.

Yes. Career counseling is a specialized part of my work and an area I bring many years of experience to.
I work with early-career professionals making big decisions, established professionals experiencing burnout or dissatisfaction, and adults navigating midlife career changes or questioning what they want their next chapter to look like.
I also work with adolescents ages 16+ on career exploration, choosing a major, and building self-awareness for career decision-making.
Career concerns are rarely just about work. We may also explore identity, confidence, values, relationships, family expectations, purpose, stress, and what you want your life- not only your résumé- to look like.
-
Absolutely. In fact, you don’t have to identify the problem before coming to counseling.
Sometimes feeling stuck looks like going through the motions, questioning decisions you once felt sure about, or realizing that a life you worked hard to build doesn’t feel quite the way you expected it would.
We can slow things down, get curious about what feels off, and begin separating what you genuinely want from what you’ve felt expected or obligated to want.
You don’t need to know your destination before you start figuring out your direction.
-
Yes. I especially enjoy working with women navigating the questions and changes that can come with midlife.
This season may include career changes, divorce or relationship shifts, empty nesting, grief, changing friendships, caregiving, identity changes, or simply wondering, Who am I now- and what do I want the rest of my life to look like?
Counseling can provide space to process what is changing while reconnecting with your own needs, identity, relationships, and sense of purpose.
-
Yes. You do not need to attend couples therapy to work on your relationships.
Individual counseling can help you understand your relationship and attachment patterns, improve communication, develop healthier boundaries, navigate dating or relationship changes, and recognize dynamics you may find yourself repeating.
We can also explore family relationships, friendships, divorce, co-parenting, or questions about finding and maintaining healthy romantic relationships.
Often, understanding how you relate to others begins with understanding yourself a little more deeply.
-
Yes. Boundaries and people-pleasing often go much deeper than simply learning how to say “no.”
You may intellectually know that you’re allowed to have boundaries but still feel guilty, anxious, selfish, or responsible for how other people react to them.
In counseling, we can explore where those patterns came from, what keeps them going, and how to communicate your needs while staying connected to your own values and sense of self.
The goal isn’t to become less caring. It’s to stop disappearing from your own life while caring for everyone else.
-
Yes. I work with adults experiencing anxiety, chronic stress, overthinking, self-doubt, imposter syndrome, perfectionistic pressure, and emotional overwhelm.
Anxiety doesn’t always look like panic. Sometimes it looks like replaying conversations, struggling to make decisions, constantly anticipating what could go wrong, or appearing completely capable while your brain is running approximately 47 tabs in the background.
Counseling can help you understand what’s driving those patterns, develop healthier ways of responding to stress, and feel more grounded and confident in everyday life.
-
Yes. Self-esteem can affect nearly every part of life- from relationships and boundaries to career decisions and the way you speak to yourself.
We may explore self-doubt, imposter syndrome, comparison, perfectionism, people-pleasing, difficulty trusting yourself, or the experiences that shaped how you learned to see yourself.
The goal isn’t artificial “positive thinking.” It’s developing a more grounded relationship with yourself so you can trust your voice, make decisions with greater confidence, and live more authentically.

Your first session is a chance for us to begin getting to know one another and understand what brought you to counseling.
We’ll talk about what’s happening in your life now, what you’ve been struggling with, relevant parts of your history, and what you’d like to be different. You don’t need to arrive with a polished explanation or perfectly defined therapy goals.
I’ll ask questions, you can ask me questions, and together we’ll begin identifying where it might be most helpful to start.

Individual counseling sessions are $165 per session.
I do not currently accept insurance and am considered an out-of-network provider. I try to keep my rate reasonable while providing thoughtful, individualized care.
If your insurance plan includes out-of-network mental health benefits, I’m happy to provide documentation that you can submit for possible reimbursement. Because benefits vary by plan, I recommend contacting your insurance company directly to ask about your specific coverage.
-
For many people and concerns, online counseling can be an effective and convenient way to receive mental health support.
Virtual counseling also removes the commute and allows you to meet from a familiar, private environment, which can make fitting counseling into work, family, and everyday life a little easier.
Because I currently provide counseling virtually, you must be physically located in Texas at the time of your session.

You can start by scheduling a free 15-minute consultation.
This gives us a chance to briefly talk about what’s bringing you to counseling, what kind of support you’re looking for, and whether I may be a good fit for you.
You don’t need to know exactly what you want to work on before reaching out. Whether you’re navigating a career change, relationship patterns, anxiety, a major life transition, or simply know that something needs to feel different, we can start there.
-
Yes. Career counseling can help teenagers and adolescents begin exploring their interests, strengths, values, and potential career paths without expecting them to have their entire future figured out. We can talk through possible careers, college or education options, personal goals, and the pressures that can come with deciding what comes next.
For teens who feel overwhelmed by choices- or who simply don’t know where to start- career counseling provides a structured, supportive place to explore possibilities and begin making decisions with more confidence.
